LUKOIL Industrial and Engine Oils

Since the industrial implantation, the modern technologies to produce Group II base oils have quickly gained recognition and are gaining more and more popularity around the world.

Lukoil has implemented a new technology for the production of motor and industrial oils, reformulating product lines using high-index base oils of group II according to API classification.

Starting in July 2019, Group II base oil will be used in the production of more than 40 types of Lukoil motor, hydraulic and industrial oils, replacing Group I, in particular, in the production of a number of branded motor oils of the AVANGARD, LUX and SUPER ranges, as well as GEYZER hydraulic oils. To date, the company’s formulations used Lukoil base oils exclusively of groups I and III +.

The results of numerous studies and pilot runs conducted at the company’s plant in Volgograd showed that LUKOIL Group II base oils have improved low-temperature properties, reduced evaporation and are more resistant to oxidation compared to Group I oils:

40% better oxidation resistance (protection against deposits in the engine);

  • • 30% better low temperature properties;
  • • 10% lower volatility.

The transition of Lukoil products to a new formula allowed us to bring the quality of finished lubricants to a higher level.
