A novelty in the line of LiuGong wheel loader, the CLG 855H LNG model won an award in the nomination ‘Wheel Loader of the Year’ of the competition ‘Construction equipment innovations in Russia’.

The CLG855H LNG model belongs to the category of five-ton wheel loaders. By analogy with machines with a lifting capacity of 3 tons, 5-ton class machines are also available in various configurations for different working conditions and loads. At the same time, the CLG 855N LNG front loader model, equipped with a Yuchai gas engine running on liquefied gas fuel, is available in a configuration similar in design features and purpose to the CLG 855N diesel fuel model. Both models have a similar design in terms of transmission, axles, frames and working equipment, but a gas-powered loader differs much more favorably in the cost of product ownership.

The loader has an energy-efficient power transmission system, ideally combining the engine with an integrated BS306E transmission and a torque converter, which provide the machine with efficiency, high performance and extra reliability. The elements of the transmission, internal combustion engine, hydraulics and loader cab are mounted on updated, durable and rigid frame structures resistant to twisting and shock loads. The distance between the upper and lower plates of the half-pipe joint ensures excellent load distribution and durability of the bearing pairs. The widely spaced articulation of the frames guarantees excellent access during maintenance. The machines are equipped with updated high-strength booms, as well as a bucket of new geometry with increased load holding capacity, a flatter bottom and an anti-wear high-strength cutting edge. As standard, the LiuGong gas loader is equipped with a single pilot joystick for controlling working equipment (which ensures convenience and accuracy of operations), a two-section hydraulic distributor, a bucket with crowns of 3.0 m3. The optimized geometry of the Z-shaped drive of the working equipment positions the bucket closer to the loader tires, providing excellent pulling force, high penetration force of the working tool into the ground and maximum turning angle for stable transportation of materials with maximum holding capacity. The CLG 855H LNG models are equipped with a hydropneumatic braking system. The improved brake booster of the new generation of loaders increases the reliability of the braking system and increases the braking force. The machines still have a light and flexible steering system with minimal impact on the steering wheel, which is achieved by optimizing the flow booster valve and increased pressure in the steering system, from 14 MPa to 16.5 MPa, reducing the stroke of the steering cylinder. They need fewer turns of the steering wheel to ensure the maneuverability of the car, thus contributing to reducing driver fatigue and prolonging the period of safe work on the construction site.

The axles of the LiuGong five-ton loader are designed to ensure maximum contact of the machine with the surface of the work area and are designed so that all four wheels remain on the ground even when working on rough terrain. The front axle is rigidly fixed to the frame to support the entire weight of the wheel loader with the load; the rear axle is designed to oscillate ± 11-12 °, providing the machine with high stability and traction. All LiuGong wheel loaders have an innovative cab design created by engineers at a research center in the UK.
